How Master Chief Turns the Tide With the Scarab Gun

The history of Halo is one that has rocked the gaming community since it graced our presence on the Xbox. It has wow'ed us for years, and has not disappointed us with any of the sequels. The multiplayer is stellar, the campaigns are engaging, and batting aliens will never get old.

Halo 2 continues the story of the Master Chief, a genetically enhanced awesome super-soldier who is the only human ever to successfully defy the Covenant. Along side with the Master Chief is a rebel clan of Covenant who want to end the murderous march toward Earth. To the mysterious leaders of the Covenant, the human victory at the ancient ring structure known as Halo was an unacceptable failure. They will not fail again.

With the Covenant weapon dubbed "Halo" destroyed, one might think that the universe might be safe. Such is not the case. The Master Chief is needed yet again. Take your Marines around the galaxy in an effort to squish the Covenant's, and the floods relentless attacks. One of these weapons are the pesky scarabs that tear through major cities like tissue paper.

But the question I beg of you is what is there left to do in Halo 2? You can play multiplayer, but what if you want something new in the campaign mode. What would you say if I told you that you could get the scarab gun? You know, the one that mows you down every time you get within 500 feet of those monolithic spiders begin destroying the city? Read closely because this will change the entire campaign altogether.

To get the scarab gun get to the Metropolis level in the single player mode. It is located on top of the bridge connecting two buildings after the tunnel. One method of reaching it is to jack a banshee and fly it through the tunnel. This is much easier on co-op. Remember you have to time the load screen just right so you still have the banshee as it loads.

Another method is to use the flying sword exploit in conjunction with the marines and the warthogs. If you are on your own I would recommend shooting the wings off the banshee before you jack it so you can easily get through the tunnel. As soon as you jack it push forward even when you're still throwing him out, so it doesn't blow up. Once you're out of the tunnel fly up to the first 2 buildings with a bridge connecting them. The gun is on that bridge but its kind of hard to see so fly low over the bridge. It is in the form of a plasma rifle and fires bursts similar to those that come from the wraith.
