How to Write a Press Release That Will Explode Your Press Release Marketing

By Sean R Mize

Writing and distributing press releases is another great way to make some serious noise for your organization. This can help you update your customer base while you build up a great reputation for your company.

Here's how you can explode your press release marketing:

1. Make use of "punchy" headline and first paragraph. You need to make sure that you will be able to capture the attention of your intended readers through your headlines. Aside from stressing the benefits that these people can get through your content, you must also be able to communicate the what, who, when, why, and where details of your press release. To promote further reading, ensure that you place the most important information of your content on your first paragraph.

2. Consider your readers. Always keep these people and their needs on top of your priority list. Put yourself in their shoes and figure out what kind of information you would like to see on the press release to keep you interested. Ensure that your press release is easy to understand as you might be serving people who are coming from other points of the globe who are not using English as their primary language.

3. Deliver newsworthy information. Writing press releases, unlike article writing, warrants a very good news angle. Unless you have timely and important information to share, you must not consider creating your press release. The topics you should be writing about are the following; merger or partnership between your company and other entities, milestones, charity events that your organization is sponsoring, and product launching.

4. Back up your claims with facts. Facts will make your press release sound stronger and believable. Avoid inserting add-ons or fluffs. If your content sounds too good to be true, you may want to tone it down a bit as this can damage your credibility. Remember, your press releases must only offer straight, hard facts and they must be free from any marketing hype.

5. Leave as much contact information as possible. Make it easier for your readers to get in touch with you should they have questions about your news releases. Leave your email address, phone number, fax number, and website URL.

6. Distribute your press release. Submit your news releases to free press release distribution sites that can help you get your copies to news engines. You may also opt to send them to Associate Press or have them published on your local newspapers.
